# Thermal Physics

By the end of the Thermal Physics chapter you should be able to:

- Describe how energy is transferred between kinetic and potential energies when a substance is heated and when a substance changes state
- Use the equation for Specific Heat Capacity
- Use the equation for Latent Heat
- Use the two equations above together to solve more complex problems
- Recall and use the three gas laws (Boyle’s, Charle’s, and The Pressure Law)
- Explain what molar mass is
- Understand what an ideal gas is and the equations that govern it
- Understand the difference in the mole and molecular variations of the equation

- Understand the derviation of the kinetic theory model / equation
